Extensive administrative, education, and information technology experience as an RN in the acute care setting, at two major Healthcare Systems in NJ for 40 plus years; Full time position as a Director for Medical Informatics Enterprise-wide Clinical Information Systems for Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health in the areas of Physicians/APPs – CPOE, documentation, evidence based clinical practice, as well as, for all other levels of clinical staff; Also responsible for Enterprise-wide education and training, including on boarding of all roles for Cerner and the RWJBH EHR. Actively engaged in the planning, design, and transition to EPIC for all sites across RWJBH.

Board certified by the ANCC in Nursing Administration since 1985; Bachelors of Science in Nursing with an Area of Concentration in Medical Sociology from Fairleigh Dickinson University – 1978; Master’s in Public Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University – 1989; Post Graduate Certification in Nursing Education from Rutgers University. Trained in EPIC and Cerner electronic medical records.

Author/co-author of published articles; speaker and presenter on various professional topics including but not limited to Leadership, Healthcare & Nursing Informatics, Lateral Violence in the Workplace, Quality and Outcomes, Nursing Research, Evidenced Based Practice, High Reliability Organization Training, and Nursing and use of Electronic Health Records, etc.

Adjunct Professor at Monmouth University and Brookdale Community College for many years; teaching graduate & undergraduate level courses such as: Complementary & Alternative Therapies, Nursing Power & Politics, Health Care Informatics, Sociology of Aging, Women’s Health, Crisis Intervention and Medical Terminology.

Author/co-author of published articles; speaker and presenter on various professional topics including, but not limited to Leadership, Healthcare & Nursing Informatics, Lateral Violence in the Workplace, High Reliability Organization Training, Electronic Health Records, etc.

Organization of Nurse Leaders of NJ (ONLNJ) member – Previous co- chair of the Informatics Committee & longstanding member and previous chair of the Education Committee for ONLNJ; New Jersey State Nurse’s Association (NJSNA) member and serving for many years as a reviewer for the Providership Committee of NJSNA; HIMSS member and serving on the Scholarship Committee; Current chair of the enterprise-wide RWJBH Professional Development Committee for the Women’s Leadership Alliance. Previous National League for Nursing (NLN) Item Writer; Member of the Health Information Systems Society of New Jersey (HIMSSNJ) member and serving on the Scholarship committee.
