The President’s Relief Fund Supports Students’ Most Urgent Needs

PRF Logo

The COVID-19 crisis and the move to remote instruction has placed new and unexpected financial burdens on our Monmouth University students. In response to this, President Patrick Leahy and generous members of the University community have made a strong commitment to alleviating our students’ stressors by establishing the President’s Relief Fund. The relief fund provides immediate assistance to current students facing financial difficulty. This fund can support hardships including, but not limited to:

  • technology access
  • unexpected travel expenses
  • food insecurity
  • necessities for daily living

Students began applying for this assistance on March 24, and the relief fund has helped approximately 450 student with small grants totaling $150,000 to date. If you are a current full-time student facing financial hardship due to the pandemic and are interested in applying for a President’s Relief Fund grant, please read the eligibility requirements. Submissions will be reviewed in the order in which they were received.

If you are interested in making a personal contribution to the President’s Relief Fund, visit fly.monmouth.edu/relief. Please note, 100% of all donations to the President’s Relief Fund will directly support Monmouth students’ most urgent needs as they adapt to these changing times. Thank you for your consideration and most importantly, please continue to take care of yourselves and to look out for one another.
