 MONMOUTHUNIVERSITY VICE PRESIDENT FOR UNIVERSITY ADVANCEMENT TO STEP DOWN IN JUNE

Monmouth University Vice President of University Advancement Dr. Jeffery Mills announced he will leave the University sometime in June  after working seven years for the University.  He has been appointed president/CEO of the University of Maine Foundation, effective July 1, 2012.

President Paul G. Gaffney II stated: “Thank you to Jeff for his dedicated service to Monmouth University.  Under his tenure, Monmouth University broke fundraising records and completed its largest capital campaign to date.”

During his time at Monmouth the University completed its $50 million Vision for Distinction Capital Campaign.  He increased overall fundraising to highest levels in university history, which led to Monmouth University winning the National 2009 CASE-WealthEngine Award for Educational Fundraising.  Monmouth University’s employee giving campaign set a record with 67% of full-time employees contributing to the campaign in 2011 and raising over $1.2 million in six years.  Mills commented: “I would like to thank all our alumni, employees, and friends for helping us break all fundraising records at Monmouth University during such difficult financial times.”

Mills is a Maine native who has a B.S. from the University of Maine, and M.Ed and Ph.D. from Arizona State University.

The University of Maine Foundation is a separate nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization that was established in 1934 and has offices on the University of Maine campus in Orono and in Falmouth, Maine. The Foundation exists to encourage private support to promote academic achievement, foster research and elevate intellectual pursuits at the University of Maine in Orono and other charitable organizations and has assets approaching $200 million.
