Virtual Blue Hawk Records Release Show for “Reviver”

With the ever-changing, and at times frightening outside world, there is one thing that’s for certain: nothing can stop the music. Blue Hawk Records has been grinding to perfect their seventeenth compilation album, Reviver. Since the start of the fall 2020 semester, the team has been meeting regularly, held in-person and virtual auditions, went into Lakehouse Recording Studio in Asbury Park to record, mix, and master the album, and is set for an upcoming virtual release show. The release show will be held on Instagram live on December 9 starting at 8 pm. The Instagram handle to tune in to is @bluehawkrecordsoffical.

In this special Christmas in Ireland Live program, the Cherish the Ladies put their signature mark on classic carols such as “Angels we Have Heard on High”, “Joy to the World”, “Hark the Herald Angel Sing”, “Mrs. Fogarty’s Christmas Cake”, “Ding Dong Merrily on High” and “Silent Night” in arrangements that highlight the group’s unique Celtic instrumentation, beautiful harmonies and spectacular step dancing. The show streaming to you in High Definition features the outstanding musicianship of Joanie Madden (flute, whistle, harmony vocals), Mary Coogan (guitar), Mirella Murray (accordion), Kathleen Boyle (piano, harmony vocals), Nollaig Casey (fiddle), The Waterboys and Lunása’s Trevor Hutchinson (Upright Bass), Riverdance’s Jimmy Higgins (percussion) also featured are the gorgeous vocals of Kate Purcell, Don Stiffe, Bruce Foley and Seámus O’Flatharta (harp, vocals, step dancing).  Five-time World Champion step dancer David Geaney rounds out the troupe.

A.J. Croce – Livestream Series

We are proud to partner with A.J. Croce  to bring you access to a special livestream series! A portion of each ticket sold benefits Monmouth University Center for the Arts. The album release show on Thursday March 18 celebrates the release of the new A.J. Croce studio album By Request available on CD and LP for pre-order today and out on February 5 via Compass Records. The album was born of memories—of favorite artists and shows, but mostly, of late-night gatherings with groups of friends, many of them fellow musicians, with Croce at the piano taking requests. On Thursday March 25 A.J. Croce brings his touring band to the stage with him to perform music from his en studio albums of roots music ranging from Blues and Jazz to Rock and Roll and Soul, including covers from the new album. This performance will include a variety of originals from albums like That’s Me in the Bar, Twelve Tales, and Just Like Medicine.

Ani DiFranco – Revolutionary Love Live

Monmouth University Music & Arts Festival 2021

Entering its 2nd year on the virtual stage, this year’s Monmouth University Music & Arts Festival will feature members of the Garden State Philharmonic performing music from Civil War era Marches through Ragtime, Dixieland, and Jazz featuring music by composers George Gershwin, Scott Joplin, C.W. Handy, Duke Ellington, and Louis Armstrong. The festival will also highlight selections and solos from The Monmouth University Chamber Choir, a performance by the Blue Hawk House Band and a special reading by former United States Poet Laureate and Pulitzer Prize winner Natasha Trethaway. The festival will premiere at 7:00 PM on July 1st and be available to view through July 31st. To receive the streaming link for the festival you will need to register.

Monmouth University Center for the Arts brings you its first-ever episode of Studio Sessions, recorded live concerts featuring some of your favorite singers, songwriters and musicians from the Jersey Shore and beyond! The first episode features Pat Guadagno & Friends – Dean Friedman, Sloan Wainwright and Joseph Alton Miller. Each artist performs in the round in the intimate setting of the studio at 10PRL in Long Branch.
