Incoming first-year students interested in this program will receive notification of eligibility upon acceptance to the University; no additional application is required.

  • Eligible students entering Fall 2021 will be invited to join a Bachelor's + Master's program in May.
  • Prospective students applying for Fall 2022 and beyond will express interest in the program on the application for admission.

Incoming transfer students interested in this program will receive additional guidance on how to apply after they have been granted admission to the University.

  • Eligible students entering Fall 2021 will be provided instructions on how to apply to a Bachelor's + Master's program by May.
  • Prospective students applying for Fall 2022 and beyond will express interest in the program on the application for admission.

Interdisciplinary Studies for Elementary Educators – K-6, TSD

Combine in-depth clinical experiences with a rigorous interdisciplinary and STEM-focused curriculum that includes key endorsements in K-6 Elementary Education and Teacher of Student Disabilities. Learn English, mathematics, science, and social studies from the elementary teaching standpoint and enhance your pedagogical knowledge with an interdisciplinary mindset. By completing a yearlong clinical practice with one of our 50+ P-12 partner schools, you will develop modern and cutting-edge skills to make an immediate difference in local schools and communities.

Educational Counseling (M.S.Ed.)

Prepare for a career where you can have a real and lasting impact on students of any age in a program rooted in social justice and diversity. You will benefit from small class sizes, accomplished faculty, and ample opportunities for experiential learning. Practice your skills through course work, projects, internships, and work in school settings to advance your advising and leadership skills and find the counseling career that is perfect for you.

Special Education – Advanced Level Track (M.S.Ed.)

M.S.Ed. Special Education – Advanced Level Track provides the extensive knowledge and skills to support special education teachers working with students with disabilities.

Elementary Education – P-3 and TSD

Combine in-depth clinical experiences with a rigorous curriculum that includes key endorsements in P-3 and Teacher of Student Disabilities. By completing a yearlong clinical practice with one of our 50+ P-12 partner schools, you will develop modern and cutting-edge skills to make an immediate difference in local school and communities.

Special Education – TSD Track (M.S.Ed.)

M.S.Ed. with TSD endorsement provides certified general education teachers with the knowledge and skills to teach students with disabilities.  

Special Education – Autism/ABA Track (M.S.Ed.)

The Autism/ABA track will provide background in the fields of Autism Spectrum Disorder and Applied Behavioral Analysis. You will analyze and implement research-based procedures based on the principles of ABA that are appropriate for clinical, educational, and community settings. This Behavior Analyst Certification Board-approved course sequence meets the course work requirement to sit for the BCBA exam. This is not a teacher-licensing program.

Special Education – Autism Track (M.S.Ed.)

M.S.Ed. Autism provides background in the field of Autism Spectrum Disorders for those who seek a career working in schools, clinics, or community settings with individuals with ASD. You will study laws and policies, behavior management, and best practices while conducting assessments and interventions with individuals with ASD.

Education (All Majors)

Choose from a variety of education programs that combine sustained, in-depth clinical experiences with a rigorous curriculum that includes your choice of a content major with key endorsements available in P-3, K-6 Elementary Education, Secondary Education, and Teacher of Student with Disabilities (TSD). By completing a yearlong clinical practice with one of our 50+ P-12 partner schools, you will develop modern and cutting-edge skills to make an immediate difference in local school and communities.

Teaching – Elementary and Secondary (M.A.T.)

If you discover that your goal is teaching – and specifically teaching in an elementary or secondary school classroom – then our Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) is the program for you. The M.A.T. offers professional development courses that cover a broad range of educational issues, theories, and methods, all leading to student teaching clinical placements and preparation for NJ state certification in the initial certification program. Several certification tracks are available including elementary (grades K-6), secondary (grades 7-12), and subject specific programs for grades K-12 (music, art, Spanish, and Physical Education/Health). Additionally, a Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TSD) or English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement can be added to these programs.
