MONMOUTH UNIVERSITY STUDENTS TO LAUNCH ONLINE NEWS PORTAL

The Verge, Monmouth University’s first student-run online news portal, will launch its Web site on Wednesday, February 29, at 2:30 pm in the Plangere Center for Communication, room 206.

The event is open to all Monmouth students and faculty. Light refreshments will be served.

“I am very excited about the launch of The Verge,” said Dr. Chad Dell, chair of the Communication Department. “This represents a brand new opportunity for students to work in a multimedia environment and to get their work viewed by the world.”

The Verge student news portal was created for the purpose of providing the Monmouth University community with information and issues in and around the university and to act as a forum for expression of the ideas of its audience. It allows students that are interested in journalism, communication, and other multimedia to gain experience while also exploring the alternative platforms that are used in the creation and dissemination of the news today.
