Artist Lázaro Niebla recently conducted an artist demonstration for students in Monmouth University’s Department of Art and Design. The event, hosted by the Center for the Arts, served as a complement to Niebla’s ongoing exhibit in the Pollak Gallery. Niebla’s demonstration, which also featured Cuban musicians, provided students with unique insights into his creative process. The bi-lingual presentation offered students a glimpse into the challenges of working as an artist in Cuba and a deeper understanding of the subjects Niebla features in his work – the country elders who embody and preserve Cuban traditional culture. The event showcased the University’s commitment to fostering artistic growth and engagement and allowed our students insight into other cultures and communities.
