The Monmouth Review is our University’s literary and arts journal. Each year, students and alumni publish poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and artwork in the journal. Additionally, it gives students the chance to cultivate editorial and publishing skills in an informal environment under the mentorship of creative writing and arts faculty. University-sponsored trips allow students to visit galleries and museums, and to attend creative writing conferences.

The editorial staff solicits art and literary submissions and reviews each one during weekly meetings. As a team, the staff organizes accepted materials, matching literary contributions with artwork while overseeing layout, design, and printing—every aspect of magazine publication—to produce a cohesive, substantial, and physically attractive annual volume.

Each spring, The Monmouth Review is distributed free of charge. It is launched in coordination with a reading and artwork exhibition, which often features nationally-recognized visiting editors, writers and artists. All students are invited to join the staff of the journal and/or to submit their original, creative work.
