TUESDAY NIGHT RECORD CLUB: Radiohead, OK Computer

It’s just like book club but with albums! With new advances in technology, the way we consume music through our devices, apps and on demand streaming services like Pandora, Spotify and iTunes is making the idea of the “album” as an art form extinct. Get together with other music enthusiasts on Tuesday nights in Woods Theatre to discuss some of the greatest records of all-time! Listen to the album beforehand and then come prepared to discuss… there will be special guest moderators and panelists at each event!

This discussion will feature Radiohead OK Computer. This event is free but registration is required.

An Evening with Emily Saliers of the Indigo Girls

Join us for an intimate conversation, performances and Q&A. Emily Saliers is one half of the Grammy Award-winning folk rock music duo Indigo Girls. Over the years, they have sold over fifteen million albums worldwide, as well as earning six Grammy nominations. In 1989, they were nominated for Best New Artist and took home the Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk Album.

The Beatles’ THE WHITE ALBUM: An International Symposium

Join us for an international scholarly conference devoted to the life, work, and influence of the Beatles, particularly in relation to their legendary album The Beatles (1968), popularized as The White Album. The festivities will include various live acts, as well as keynote addresses by rock critics and figures from the music industry. Celebrated Beatles historian Mark Lewisohn will serve as our keynote speaker, along with such luminaries as Walter Everett, John Covach, Tim Riley, and Robert Rodriguez, among others.
