
Alumni Board Welcomes New Members
Monmouth University has announced the results of this spring’s Alumni Association Board of Directors election. Six alumni have been selected to serve three-year terms beginning July 1, 2025.
The group includes two returning incumbents—Thomas “TJ” Acerra Jr. ’13 and Nicole Trainor ’99, ’11M, ’20 Ed.D.—as well as four newly elected members: John Askin ’22; Bryan Koslow ’04M; Tina Onikoyi ’12, ’15M, Ph.D.; and Wendy O’Ree ’88, ’96M. O’Ree previously served two terms in a non-voting capacity.
Members of the Alumni Association Board of Directors serve as ambassadors for the 59,000-plus alumni family. Elected by their peers each spring, this diverse group works closely with Monmouth leadership to engage all alumni through events, volunteer activities, and fundraising efforts. Thomas “TJ” Acerra Jr. ’13 (Incumbent)

Degree: B.S. in Business Administration
Business/Job Title: Founder and Wealth Advisor at Avail Wealth Group
Activities as a student and alumnus: As a student, Acerra was a member of the Accounting Honor Society and was a student worker in the Department of Athletics. As an alumnus, he has completed two terms on the Alumni Association Board of Directors and currently serves on the Executive Committee. He volunteers as a mentor with the Leon Hess Business School and attends alumni events, including Homecoming and Wine and Stein.
John Askin ’22

Degree: B.S. in Business Administration
Business/Job Title: Financial Advisor at Allied Wealth Partners
Activities as a student and alumnus: As a student, Askin was a member of the Division I men’s soccer team, the Economics and Finance Club, the Monmouth Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, and the Honors School. As an alumnus, he has stayed involved by supporting student-athletes and attending Homecoming celebrations.
Bryan Koslow ’04M

Degree: MBA in Business Administration
Business/Job Title: President at Clarus Group, LLC
Activities as a student and alumnus: As a part-time MBA student at Monmouth, Koslow attended athletic and social events. As an alumnus, he serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council for the Leon Hess Business School, was a member of the search committee for the director of the Center for Entrepreneurship, and participated in the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) accreditation process in 2024. He also attends signature events including Wine and Stein, Homecoming, and the Gala at the Great Hall.
Tina Onikoyi ’12, ’15M, Ph.D.

Degrees: B.A. in Psychology; M.A. in Mental Health Counseling
Business/Job Title: CEO/Clinical Director of Wellness Meets World
Activities as a student and alumna: Onikoyi’s student activities included membership in Lambda Theta Alpha, the Psychology Club, the African American Student Union, the Latin American Student Organization, the Glee Club, the Greek Senate Executive Board, and the Capoeira Club, and she played intramural basketball. As an alumna, she continues to support social and networking activities, including Homecoming and Ebony Night.
Wendy O’Ree ’88, ’96M

Degrees: B.S. in Business Administration; MBA in Business Administration
Business/Job Title: Senior Managing Director at Peapack Private Bank & Trust
Activities as a student and alumna: O’Ree transferred to Monmouth the second semester of her sophomore year. Employed full time during her time as an undergraduate, she spent most of her time in the classroom or the art studio. As an alumna, O’Ree is a dedicated volunteer and participates in Homecoming, Accepted Student Days, and Wine and Stein. She has also served two non-voting terms on the Alumni Association Board of Directors.
Nicole Trainor ’99, ’01M, ’20Ed.D. (Incumbent)

Degree: B.A. in Psychology and Education; M.A. in Psychological Counseling; Ed.D. in Educational Leadership
Business/Job Title: Student Advisor with Long Branch Board of Education
Activities as a student and alumna: As an undergraduate, Trainor was in Theta Phi Alpha. She was also president of the Student Activities Board, secretary of the Student Alumni Association, an orientation leader, a member of The Outlook, and helped edit the yearbook. Trainor is beginning her third consecutive term on the Alumni Association Board of Directors, where she serves on the Executive Committee. She has also volunteered at Homecomings, wine and beer tastings, reunions, and many other alumni events for more than two decades.
