    Advising Responsibilities

Transfer Services works closely with all students who transfer in 18 or more credits. In addition to their assigned faculty academic advisors, the CSS also serves as another level of support for transfer students. Topics discussed in a typical advising session include, but are not limited to:

    • Transferability and applicability of credits
    • Major requirements
    • Career development
    • Class schedules
    • Degree completion plan
    • Transition
    • Referral to Center for Student Success resources

For answers to some common advising questions, please visit Frequently Asked Questions.

Transfer Services organizes Transfer Student Orientation, which is held prior to the start of the fall and spring semesters. This program includes such activities as:

    • Getting to Know Your New Monmouth Friends
    • Transfer Services Resources & Technology Information
    • Resident and Commuter Information Sessions
    • Meet Faculty from Your Academic Schools and Departments
    • Discussion of other pertinent Monmouth services

    Transfer Services: Orientation

Once a transfer student deposits, outreach is done to welcome him or her to the university in order to immediately build connections with campus resources and other transfer students. CSS outreach is also conducted throughout the semester to all transfer students (new and continuing), especially those experiencing academic difficulty- all transfer students are on the MEWS reporting program (Monmouth's Early Warning System).

Transfer Services organizes workshops, seminars and events that not only make students aware of academic and campus support services, but also allow them to meet and connect with other transfer students.

For current workshops and events, please visit CSS on Facebook.
