Comprehensive Campus Community

Students and faculty are at the heart of our vibrant university community. We are connected to our neighbors and our region through the arts, athletics, and a deeply embedded commitment to serving beyond the campus.

Community Involvement

Our students perform more than 170,000 hours of community service each year, and each fall, 400 students volunteer at one of the 25 to 30 Big Event work sites in the towns that surround campus.

Almost one million visitors enjoy a diverse array of concerts, gallery exhibitions, lectures, arena-style concerts, intimate performances, poetry readings, book signings, and lectures by recognized leaders from the political, public, legal, business, and entertainment fields.

Division 1 Athletics

Monmouth’s 24 NCAA Division I men’s and women’s athletic programs also draw alumni and fans to the 153,200-square-foot OceanFirst Bank Center, a 4,200-seat venue that is home court for our basketball and indoor track and field teams, and the Henni Kantor Kessler & John H. Kessler Stadium, which opened for play on September 2, 2017. Kessler Stadium, which accommodates 4,200 fans and features state-of-the-art media facilities hosts the University’s football, men’s/women’s lacrosse, and outdoor track and field programs.

Beyond Our Gates

Our growing footprint extends to unique facilities such as the 38,800-square-foot Monmouth University Graduate Center just two miles from our main campus and the dedicated recording studio space at Lakehouse Studios in world-famous Asbury Park. With our three state-of-the-art research vessels, students can explore surrounding clear ocean waters through the Urban Coast Institute, academic studies in Marine and Environmental Biology and Policy, internships with the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife, or our Sailing Club.

As the first educational affiliate of the GRAMMY Museum on the eastern seaboard and home to the growing Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music, Monmouth’s facilities are rising to the challenge of serving our region as an important cultural center.
