{"id":24666,"date":"2023-02-28T10:30:49","date_gmt":"2023-02-28T15:30:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/uci\/?p=24666"},"modified":"2023-03-27T16:28:44","modified_gmt":"2023-03-27T20:28:44","slug":"story-maps-plug-readers-into-basics-of-siting-offshore-wind-energy-transmission-cables","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/uci\/2023\/02\/28\/story-maps-plug-readers-into-basics-of-siting-offshore-wind-energy-transmission-cables\/","title":{"rendered":"Story Maps Plug Readers into Basics of Siting Offshore Wind Energy Transmission Cables"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Urban Coast Institute Communications Director Karl Vilacoba worked with members of the Mid-Atlantic Committee on the Ocean\u2019s offshore wind work group to create a miniseries of story maps offering an educational look at the basics of offshore wind energy transmission cable siting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/portal.midatlanticocean.org\/ocean-stories\/transmission-series-part-ii-the-cvow-cable-route\/\">\u201cOcean Stories\u201d features on the Mid-Atlantic Ocean Data Portal<\/a>, Vilacoba interviewed Dominion Energy Environmental Services Environmental Technical Advisor Scott Lawton about some of the major factors involved in the design of the power cable route connecting to the first two offshore wind energy turbines in federal waters.
