The program provides grant opportunities for student researchers and faculty mentors to conduct projects of their own design that advance the Urban Coast Institute\u2019s mission and Monmouth\u2019s Strategic Plan. Each year, the program funds dozens of hands-on research positions that provide real-world experience to students while helping make a positive impact in coastal communities. Taking advantage Monmouth\u2019s location a mile from the world\u2019s greatest laboratory \u2013 the New Jersey coast \u2013 students can explore the region\u2019s diverse ocean and coastal environments, including through journeys aboard the University\u2019s three research vessels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monmouth University students and faculty can apply for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Faculty Enrichment Grants<\/strong> for the enhancement of existing curriculum, new curriculum development, research and scholarship, and team-teaching opportunities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mini-Grants<\/strong> for conference fees, symposia, guest speaker honoraria, equipment and supplies, and other needs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Student-Faculty Collaborative Summer Research Grants<\/strong> for projects either proposed by students with the support of a faculty mentor or proposed by a faculty member to enable students to conduct research with them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button aligncenter is-style-in-page\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/my.monmouth.edu\/OfficesServices\/MarineScienceFundingOpportunities\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Apply for Funding<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile is-style-bracket\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 40%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\"><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"uci-endowed-scholarships\">UCI Endowed Scholarships<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>The UCI established endowed scholarships to support undergraduate students with a demonstrated interest in coastal, marine, and environmental studies.
