The Monmouth University Institute for Global Understanding (IGU) and Urban Coast Institute (UCI) will host the free online panel talk “International and Domestic Strategies for Ocean Conservation and Biodiversity: Is 30 by 30 Enough?” on April 6. The event is the latest installment of the IGU-UCI Global Ocean Governance Lecture Series, which assembles international experts to discuss scientific and policy issues that hold important implications for coastal and marine ecosystems. Featuring presentations by Mark Gold, executive director, California Ocean Protection Council; Sebastian Nicholls, principal associate, Pew Charitable Trusts Ocean Conservation Program; and Lauren Wenzel, director, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Marine Protected Areas Center.
