We recommend that incoming students review our online pre-orientation for <a href=\"https:\/\/monmouth.desire2learn.com\/d2l\/le\/content\/242620\/viewContent\/2589236\/View\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tips on preparing for their first advisement meeting<\/a>. Please keep in mind that new transfer students cannot self-register for classes without first meeting with their advisors!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The advisor that conducts the initial meeting may not be the student&#8217;s permanent advisor. Students will be assigned an advisor no later than the beginning of the add\/drop period. Students can locate their academic advisor in Student Planning.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"course-registration\">Course Registration<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>In order to register for courses, new students must first secure their seat in the class by placing their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/myportal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">enrollment deposit<\/a>. Registration for incoming fall students begins approximately in mid-April. Registration for incoming spring students starts roughly in early October.
