WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. — The Business Council of the Leon Hess Business School at Monmouth University welcomed two new members, Philip Forlenza and Ryan Campbell, at its November 10, 2017 meeting. The Business Council was established, in part to provide the university with a continuous source of consulting, training, advising and financial support from the business community.
Philip Forlenza, Esq., is a partner with the Red Bank, N.J., law firm of Giordano, Halleran & Ciesla, P.C., and is the chair of its Strategic Planning Committee. He specializes in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and securities law, and general business law. He also counsels clients in raising capital in the public and private markets.
Additionally, Forlenza represents purchasers and sellers of businesses, including transactions involving mergers, consolidations and asset sales and advises clients in the formation and establishment of businesses, including corporations, general partnerships, limited partnerships, investment funds, joint ventures and limited liability companies. He is admitted to practice law in New Jersey and New York.
Ryan Campbell is a Senior Business Development Manager for Direct Energy, where he manages a book of business with goals around margin, volume, growth, and retention and implements energy solutions and services, such as device level monitoring, solar projects, CHP, and oil to natural gas conversions. He also works with customers to develop their natural gas and power procurement and hedging strategy.
Prior to joining Direct Energy, Mr. Campbell served as a Senior Account Manager for Hess Corporation where he led a team of regional marketing representatives and was charged with creating, executing, and tracking of all marketing efforts in support of the sales team.
One of the aims of the Business Council is to stimulate an ongoing relationship between the faculty and business, thereby maximizing the utilization of both as a resource to assist the other. With the addition of Forlenza and Campbell, 28 business leaders now serve on the council.
