Students living in Cedar Hall were evacuated on Wednesday night, February 26, 2014, at approximately 8:03 p.m. due to a small fire caused accidently in a student’s room. The West Long Branch Fire Department and First Aid, Oakhurst Fire Department, and the Monmouth University Police responded to the scene. There was one minor injury but that person refused medical attention. The residence hall reopened at 9:35 p.m.
