Select Next<br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"252\" class=\"wp-image-5143\" style=\"width: 300px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/291\/2024\/11\/step1moreinfo-app.jpeg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/291\/2024\/11\/step1moreinfo-app.jpeg 497w, https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/291\/2024\/11\/step1moreinfo-app-300x252.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/291\/2024\/11\/step1moreinfo-app-150x126.jpeg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At this point, you have two choices you can either use the <strong>Microsoft Authenticator app<\/strong> or a <strong>different method<\/strong>, both options are described below<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"using-the-microsoft-authenticator-app\">Using the <strong>Microsoft Authenticator app <\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select <strong>Next<\/strong> on the <strong>Keeping your Account Secure<\/strong> screen<br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"271\" class=\"wp-image-5144\" style=\"width: 500px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/291\/2024\/11\/keepaccountsecure.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/291\/2024\/11\/keepaccountsecure.jpg 842w, https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/291\/2024\/11\/keepaccountsecure-300x163.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/291\/2024\/11\/keepaccountsecure-768x417.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/291\/2024\/11\/keepaccountsecure-150x81.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Install the <strong>Microsoft Authenticator app<\/strong> if you do not already have it on your phone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will need to <strong>Allow Notifications<\/strong> from the app on your phone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select<strong> Generate Activation Code<\/strong> and follow the next few steps on your mobile device:<br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"401\" class=\"wp-image-5148\" style=\"width: 500px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/291\/2024\/11\/QRcode.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/291\/2024\/11\/QRcode.jpg 761w, https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/291\/2024\/11\/QRcode-300x240.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/291\/2024\/11\/QRcode-150x120.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the app select <strong>Add Account<\/strong> and select <strong>Work or School Account<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select OK to allow camera access.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scan the QR Code on the computer with your phone. Note: The code will expire in 10 minutes. Click Generate New Activation Code if the process takes longer than 10 minutes<strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are now ready to access applications that require MFA.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"using-a-different-method\">Using a <strong>Different Method<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the <strong>Keep your Account Secure<\/strong> window, select<strong> I want to set up a different method<\/strong>. If you know ahead of time that you will be purchasing a new device, it is recommended to set up an alternative method such as a phone call before getting a new device<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"using-mfa-to-authenticate-when-prompted-by-applications\"><strong>Using MFA to Authenticate when Prompted by Applications<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Microsoft Authenticator<\/strong> app: &nbsp;you will receive a message on your device to <strong>Verify<\/strong> or <strong>Approve<\/strong>, or you may <strong>receive a code<\/strong> to enter on your computer or device.
