Select <strong>Next<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list no-marker\">\n<li><br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"607\" height=\"327\" class=\"wp-image-5811\" style=\"width: 600px\" src=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/291\/2026\/09\/image.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/291\/2026\/09\/image.png 607w, https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/291\/2026\/09\/image-300x162.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 607px) 100vw, 607px\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At this point, you have two choices you can either use the <strong>Microsoft Authenticator app<\/strong> or a <strong>different method<\/strong>, both options are described below<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"using-the-microsoft-authenticator-app\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Using the <strong>Microsoft Authenticator app <\/strong> <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select <strong>Next<\/strong> on the <strong>Keeping your Account Secure<\/strong> screen\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list no-marker\">\n<li><br><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/291\/2026\/09\/image-3.png\" alt=\"\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Install the <strong>Microsoft Authenticator app<\/strong> if you do not already have it on your phone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will need to <strong>Allow Notifications<\/strong> from the app on your phone.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the app select <strong>Add Account<\/strong> and select <strong>Work or School Account<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select OK to allow camera access.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scan the QR Code on the computer with your phone. Note: The code will expire in 10 minutes. Click Generate New Activation Code if the process takes longer than 10 minutes<strong>.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are now ready to access applications that require MFA.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"using-a-different-method\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Using a <strong>Different Method<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list no-marker\">\n<li>In the <strong>Keep your Account Secure<\/strong> window, select<strong> I want to set up a different method<\/strong>. In the next dialogue box<strong>: <strong>Other Options<\/strong><\/strong>, select <strong>Phone <\/strong>from the drop down menu<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter your <strong>cell phone number<\/strong> and choose to <strong>Receive a code<\/strong>(Text) or a <strong>Call Me<\/strong> (phone call) as your authentication method. You will receive a text or phone call.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><br><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/291\/2026\/09\/image-4.png\" alt=\"\"><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are now ready to access applications that require MFA.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/technology\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/291\/2026\/09\/image-5.png\" alt=\"\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"changing-options-or-devices\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Changing Options or Devices<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sign in to the<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/mfa.monmouth.edu\">Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) portal<\/a><\/strong> with your <strong>Monmouth credentials (Full email address as your username and password).<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select <strong>Add a sign-in method, Change, <\/strong>or <strong>Delete <\/strong>one of your current methods listed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-grey-background-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\">N<strong>ote<\/strong>: If you purchase a new device, and your <strong>MFA<\/strong> method <strong>is Microsoft Authenticator<\/strong>, <strong>you will need to call the Help Desk for an MFA reset <\/strong>at 732- 923- 4357. If you know ahead of time that you will be purchasing a new device, it is recommended to set up an alternative method such as a phone call before getting a new device<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"using-mfa-to-authenticate-when-prompted-by-applications\" class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Using MFA to Authenticate when Prompted by Applications<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Microsoft Authenticator<\/strong> app: &nbsp;you will receive a message on your device to <strong>Verify<\/strong> or <strong>Approve<\/strong>, or you may <strong>receive a code<\/strong> to enter on your computer or device.
