2025 – 2026 SIPI Seminar<\/h2>\n\n\n

This seminar is intended for professionals who supervise social work students in their practicum placements. Participants will explore best practices in practicum education and have the opportunity to develop, refine, and critically reflect on their supervisory strategies and techniques. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Format:<\/strong> Monthly modules comprised of 6 synchronous Zoom sessions, asynchronous readings, and discussion board posts<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zoom Session Day: <\/strong>Tuesday<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zoom Session Time:<\/strong> 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. (EST)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zoom Session Dates:<\/strong> September 16, October 14, November 18, January 20, February 17, March 24<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CE Hours: <\/strong>6 Clinical, 6 General, 3 Ethics, and 3 Social & Cultural Competence<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cost:<\/strong> Free for all current Monmouth University School of Social Work practicum supervisors <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Topics will include: Competency-based education; Adult learning and supervision: Reflective practice and process recordings; Stages of effective supervision: Administrative, educational, and supportive supervision; Power, discipline, and assessment; Students with disabilities; Ethics in supervision; Cross-cultural supervision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SIPI certificate (also known as SIFI) can be used to supervise any social work student in the tri-state area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants must complete all the course requirements to receive their SIPI Certificate and CE Hours. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presented by Erin Nau, PhD, LCSW<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Erin Nau is a licensed clinical social worker who has worked with various populations, including clients with severe and persistent mental illnesses, families, and adolescents, providing individual, couples, family, and group counseling, and individual and group counseling with women diagnosed with breast cancer. She specializes in relational therapy, individual counseling for adolescent girls and women dealing with feelings of negative self-worth and relationship development, grief counseling, and women\u2019s health. She has also provided supervision to BSW and MSW students as well as LMSWs working towards their LCSWs. Erin is a Lecturer at Monmouth University School of Social Work.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n
