To meet this need, Monmouth University offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program for students committed to a career in nursing.

Nurses who hold a bachelor’s degree are recognized as qualified generalists who advance in their field and are eager to realize their full potential. At Monmouth University, BSN students receive the necessary preparation for RN licensure, as well as a valuable, wide-ranging liberal arts education.

The BSN program is designed primarily for first-year students who enroll as freshmen. The program of study begins with the sciences and general education courses. Nursing courses are introduced in the second year with clinical and lab courses beginning in the third year.

View Curriculum & Sequence Charts

We offer a traditional direct admit BSN program for prospective students beginning their nursing education following high school graduation.

BSN program cohorts begin every Fall semester.

Personalized faculty advising starts early in the program with individual attention provided throughout the program.

Nursing offers small class sizes with a maximum of 30 students within BSN the Nursing lecture setting.

Nursing clinical experiences are typically at area hospitals, health care centers, and community care settings, beginning junior year, providing a variety of clinical experiences. Personal transportation is required.

The nursing skills labs are designed to provide hands-on clinical practice and remediation in a safe and controlled setting.

Nursing skills open lab hours provide students with additional practice time to refine their clinical skills.

High-fidelity simulation is held at The Linda Grunin Simulation Lab and Learning Center, which provides hands-on learning in a realistic simulation environment with high-tech mannequins and equipment.
