McMurray School of Humanities and Social Sciences is host to four endowed chairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Freed Chair in Social Science, endowed through a gift from the Gerald Freed Foundation, is occupied by Professor of Political Science <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/directory\/profiles\/rekha-datta\/\">Rekha Datta<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Jules Plangere Jr. Chair in American Social History, endowed through a gift of former Board Chair and Trustee Emeritus Jules Plangere Jr. HN \u201886, is occupied by Professor of History <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/directory\/profiles\/katherine-parkin\/\">Katherine Parkin<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Wayne D. McMurray-Bennett Endowed Chair in the Humanities is occupied by Professor of English <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/directory\/profiles\/kristin-bluemel\/\">Kristin Bluemel<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Helen McMurray Bennett Endowed Chair of Social Ethics is occupied by Associate Professor of Sociology <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/directory\/profiles\/johanna-e-foster\/\">Johanna Foster<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We also share an endowed chair with the School of Science:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Rechnitz Family Urban Coast Institute Chair in Marine and Environmental Law and Policy, endowed through a gift from Joan and Robert Rechnitz, is occupied by Professor of Political Science <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/directory\/profiles\/jacques-peter\/\">Peter J.
