General Education: Course Syllabi

To qualify for graduation, each student at Monmouth must fulfill General Education requirements in reading/writing and literature. As part of the six-credit reading/writing requirement, students take two 100-level English courses: College Composition I (EN 101) and College Composition II (EN 102). For the three-credit literature requirement, students need to take one 200-level, non-writing-intensive literature course. The English department offers courses in Literature I (EN 201) and Literature II (EN 202) that fulfill this requirement.

Below are syllabi for these four General Education courses. Students can see what is expected in each course and properly plan for the class before it begins.
