    Alpha Kappa Delta International

    The Monmouth University chapter of Alpha Kappa Delta (AKD), the International Sociology Honor Society, was reactivated in 2011 and promises to be a very active contributor to the academic life of the University.

    Its purpose is to seek to acknowledge and promote excellence in scholarship in the study of sociology, the research of social problems, and such other social and intellectual activities as will lead to improvement in the human condition. Induction to the Monmouth University chapter is held in the spring semester.


    Eligibility & Membership Requirements

    1. Be at least a junior.
    2. Have an overall GPA of 3.3
    3. Have a sociology GPA of at least 3.0
    4. Have taken at least four courses in sociology at Monmouth University

    Each application will be evaluated to see that prospective members meet the requirements for membership. Those students that meet the requirements will be notified as to when they will be inducted into the society.

    The National Honor Society’s membership fee of $40 is due prior to your induction. A check payable to Monmouth University should be delivered to the Political Science and Sociology Office, BH 241 after completing your application online.
