Nicole Pulliam, Ph.D., teaches courses on social justice and diversity, student affairs/college counseling, and human growth and development. Pulliam’s practitioner experience spans over 15 years in a variety of roles within higher education, including advising and counseling within EOF programs in NY and NJ, career counseling and development, fraternity and sorority life, student activities, residential life, and financial aid. She is a proud Latina counselor educator with a strong commitment to social justice.

Her research and scholarly activities focus on the following: impacts of the impostor phenomenon on the mental health of historically underrepresented college students (Black and Latinx identified), college and career readiness programs for low-income, academically underprepared student populations, and the experiences of graduate students of color.

Pulliam serves on a variety of university-wide committees including the President’s Advisory Council on Diversity and Inclusion and the Black and African Diaspora Forum United (BADFU). Pulliam is the current chair of the School of Education’s Social Justice Advocacy Committee, served as Graduate Program Director from 2016-2019, and is the current advisor to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority (AKA), Inc.
