As a residential student at Monmouth, you need to accomplish certain steps to prepare your computer for connection to Monmouth University HawkNet. After finishing the first steps outlined below, proceed to the link for your specific operating system and follow the step-by-step instructions to complete the connection process.
To determine your Ethernet capability, look at the ports on the back or side of your computer. An Ethernet port looks similar to a phone jack but is slightly larger.
Next, please follow the HawkNet connection instructions specific to your operating system:

These instructions will help you configure your machine to the University’s network, HawkNet. If your computer does not properly connect to HawkNet, please contact the Help Desk at telephone extension HELP (4357). A Help Desk Support Technician will troubleshoot with you over the phone to determine if the problem is network related. If so, a hardware technician will be dispatched to repair the data connection.
Please be patient. Since many students bring PCs to campus each year, we may not be able to assist you immediately. All calls will be handled in the order in which they are received.
If the issue is not network related, we are unable to troubleshoot or repair any problems that are related to your personal computer system.
Students who damage network connections, connectors, or cabling will be charged for replacement and/or repair.
