Hawk Safety Alert 2010-01

security_480

The Monmouth University Police Department has received information concerning numerous burglaries into vehicles in communities surrounding the campus. The surrounding local Police Departments continue to investigate burglaries to parked cars. The proceeds of these burglaries have been expensive electronics and cash. All of the vehicles entered have been left unlocked by the car owners. There have been no instances of forced entry into the vehicles. There have been some arrests made but the burglaries continue.

Although we have not seen any burglaries into vehicles on campus, let this be a friendly reminder to our resident and commuter students to lock your vehicles and do not leave articles of value in plain sight. Please pay attention to your surroundings and notify the police if you see anything suspicious. Thank you for your cooperation.
