The most important thing you will need to pack is patience.&nbsp;It is Labor Day weekend, and you are traveling \u201cdown the shore.\u201d&nbsp;There will be traffic.&nbsp;Be prepared and take a few deep breaths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We want to create a smooth process where all students have the opportunity to move in their belongings with the least amount of traffic in the hallways and stairwells.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For First-Year<\/strong> <strong>Students <\/strong>&#8211; Once arriving on campus, please head to your assigned building. There you will receive the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your Room Keys<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your Student ID card (Didn&#8217;t submit a photo? <a href=\"https:\/\/etcentral.monmouth.edu\/#\/form\/264\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Please submit your photo!<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, there will be a resource tent located in front of Elmwood Hall. Decor | Bundles &amp; Packages (Dormify.com)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-grey-background-background-color has-background\"><a href=\"https:\/\/etcentral.monmouth.edu\/#\/form\/258\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Use this form if you are no longer interested in living in University housing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\"><h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"additional-questions\"><strong>Additional Questions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n<p><strong>How many vehicles can we bring for move-in?<\/strong><br>We encourage you to bring only one (1) vehicle to campus on move-in day and to edit the number of personal belongings you intend to bring.&nbsp;Just remember the size of the room you are moving into as you cannot fit as much into the room as you may think.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What do we do with our vehicles after we move in?<\/strong><br>We ask that everyone move their vehicle to parking lots #16, 18, 23, or 25 once you are finished removing your belongings. This way the next group of people moving in will have a place to park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What does my building\/room look like?<\/strong><br>If you go to the following links <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/reslife\/housing-options\/\">Current Residence Halls<\/a>, you can get a glimpse of our residence halls. Don&#8217;t forget to view our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=fmXSwWGewP8\">Residence Hall tour video!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Can I change my roommate?<\/strong><br>At this point, all students have been assigned therefore it is more difficult to switch roommates.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Will there be any carts to help me move in?<\/strong><br>You will be parked reasonably close to your building and we will have a limited number of pushcarts available to move your belongings. We also recommend that you bring your own hand truck as we only have a limited number of carts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Will there be students there to help me with my belongings?<\/strong><br>We do have upper-classmen students who will be there to assist you with your belongings up to your rooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Are there any activities going on after I move in?<\/strong><br>Yes, events and activities are planned for the evenings of move-in. Activities will begin with a social on the quad for students on Thursday evening.&nbsp;As we get closer to move-in, students will receive additional information.&nbsp;We also encourage you to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/orientation\">visit our orientation page<\/a> for updates on both NSO and Welcome Week.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is the Orientation Schedule?<\/strong><br>New Student Orientation (NSO) will take place in the early evening of <strong>Friday, Aug. 29, 2025 <\/strong>through the evening of <strong>Monday, Sept. 1, 2025.<\/strong>&nbsp;Our Welcome Week activities will begin on <strong>Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025<\/strong>, and will run through <strong>Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025.<\/strong> Students will receive additional information regarding NSO and Welcome Week in late July.&nbsp;We also encourage you to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/orientation\">visit our orientation page<\/a> for updates on both NSO and Welcome Week.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Are there any hotels in the area?<\/strong><br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/map\/area-accommodations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">You can use this link to find hotels near Monmouth University<\/a>.
