Open Classroom: Conversation of Your Life<\/strong>
2:30 p.m.<\/em>
Anacon A<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conversation of Your Life (COYL) aims to talk about one of the most difficult conversations regarding one’s life – that is the end of life. COYL’s goal is to educate the public about their options as they approach the end of their life. They focus on advance directives, which inform healthcare providers of the life-sustaining interventions that patients may or may not want if they are no longer able to decide for themselves. Having an advance directive allows healthcare staff and family to know and respect the patient’s wishes regarding their care. Although oftentimes difficult to discuss, COYL believes that the information is fundamentally important for all Americans to know and would like to come speak about it to Monmouth University students and staff. Class, NU 450-01: Leadership in Nursing and Healthcare, organized an educational seminar on campus from the Conversation of Your Life (COYL) project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hawk Talks event will highlight the rich diversity of events offered during Student Scholarship Week by including student work from all academic disciplines, including graduate and undergraduate students, in one premier interdisciplinary event. The event format will showcase student work through poster presentations and five-minute TED-talk style presentations. Refreshments will be served.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open Classroom: Strategies for Healthy Living<\/strong>
6:30 p.m.<\/em>
McAllan Hall 125<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During this open classroom, participants will be invited to view a class where the students from HE 101 will be showing a video on their topic of alcohol and tobacco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hess Excellence in Scholarship<\/strong>
6 – 9 p.m.<\/em>
Anacon A<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hess Excellence in Scholarship Series provides the opportunity for students in the Leon Hess Business School to highlight their scholarly work over the last academic year. Past presentations have included class projects, papers, independent studies, and internship experiences. Judges will award prizes to the top presentations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
