Welcome to the first issue of the Academic Affairs newsletter. This publication will focus on comprehensive academic information impacting the University and each Vice Provosts’ Office.
When Academic Affairs was reorganized, I created the Office of Planning and Decision Support (OPDS) to better integrate institutional research, assessment, and budget. The office provides many services to the University, including the Fact Book, institutional effectiveness surveys, and alumni surveys. What many may not know is that OPDS plays a crucial role in responding to survey requests like the U.S. News & World Report and the Princeton Review.
The most recent announcement that Monmouth University moved up 10 spots in the rankings in the U.S. News & World Reports’ Best Regional Schools in the North is an example of one of the responsibilities of Vice Provost Christine Benol’s office. OPDS is responsible for not only acting as the official data source but also sharing that information with a variety of constituencies. Being ranked #28 in U.S. News & World Report is our highest ranking in University history. The increase in the rankings is a testament to the hard work of each of you. Thank you for your contribution to this effort. Click here to learn more about the OPDS.
