Monmouth University was again included in Billboard\u2019s Top Music Business Schools<\/a> annual list, marking its seventh consecutive year on the roster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Billboard spotlights schools that are educating the next generation of music industry leaders, selecting colleges and universities based on industry recommendations, alumni information provided by honorees from multiple power lists, years of reporting on educational options, and on information provided by schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an honor to be recognized by Billboard as a top music business school again this year, a distinction that reflects the breadth of programs, partnerships, and activities available to our students across the media and entertainment landscape,\u201d said Joe Rapolla, specialist professor and chair of the Music and Theatre Arts department. \u201cOur Music Industry program has demonstrated what is possible when a strong academic foundation is combined with real-world experience, industry relationships, and entrepreneurship.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monmouth was recognized for its foundational course offerings in music business, performance, production, marketing, publishing, concert promotion, media relations, merchandising, and talent development. Billboard\u2019s profile notes that students gain experience through the Bruce Springsteen Center for American Music<\/a>, campus\u2019 new 30,000-square-foot cultural and academic center, and through behind-the-scenes roles with the annual American Music Honors<\/a> program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, student-run record label Blue Hawk Records<\/a> allows students to work as mangers, producers, A&R representatives, marketers, and artists while releasing original music and producing live events. As a collegiate chapter affiliate of Women in Music, Monmouth also reinforces industry preparation through mentorship and professional access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
