{"id":40802297792,"date":"2026-09-18T09:01:00","date_gmt":"2026-09-18T13:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/news\/?p=40802297792"},"modified":"2026-09-15T16:03:21","modified_gmt":"2026-09-15T20:03:21","slug":"kislak-real-estate-institute-launches-student-led-podcast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/news\/kislak-real-estate-institute-launches-student-led-podcast\/","title":{"rendered":"Kislak Real Estate Institute Launches Student-Led Podcast"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/kislak\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kislak Real Estate Institute (KREI)<\/a> recently launched a new student-led podcast, \u201cFrom the Ground Up.\u201d The podcast is produced on campus in the Plangere Center and was developed in collaboration with Specialist Professor Nick Messina &#8217;18M and Director of Production Services Erin Fleming &#8217;20M.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the podcast, students from the Real Estate Club interview industry professionals in a conversation moderated by KREI Director Tim Thompson &#8217;82 &#8217;89M. Communication students contribute to the audio and video production of the podcast. Recent episodes have featured topics related to the commercial real estate field and include discussions about fixing versus flipping, tax exchanges, and affordable housing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt is great to see the analytical business and creative communication students interact,\u201d said Thompson. \u201cThis project is also good training for life outside of academia when commercial real estate professionals need to market their investments.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFrom the Ground Up\u201d is currently producing its fourth episode. The podcast is available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@MonmouthKREI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">@MonmouthKREI YouTube channel<\/a> and can be streamed on Spotify and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iheart.com\/podcast\/269-from-the-ground-up-338993444\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">iHeartMedia<\/a>.
