Kimberly Callas, MFA, associate professor in the Department of Art and Design, has had her artwork “Ocean Reach” selected for the New York Academy of Art’s 2026 Summer Exhibition<\/a>. The show runs June 11 through July 13 at the academy, located at 111 Franklin St. in New York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition, juried by Tony Cox, Peggy Leboeuf and Hannah Root, features more than 75 paintings, drawings, prints and sculptures by the academy’s alumni, students and faculty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Ocean Reach” is a hand-painted relief work made with acrylic ink and graphite on 3D-printed PLA bio filament. Measuring 8 by 6 by 2 inches, the artwork is part of Callas’s summer fellowship series, “Ocean Entanglement,” and continues her exploration of combining handmade sculpture with digital 3D printing, ecological symbolism and polychrome surfaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Callas\u2019s work is also featured in the newly released WEAD Magazine #15: Place Setting<\/a>, published by WEAD: Women Eco Artists Dialog. The issue includes a featured art portfolio of Callas\u2019s work<\/a> and highlights artists, writers, and cultural practitioners engaged with ecology, place, environmental justice, and the more-than-human world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
