Monmouth University has earned reaffirmation of its accreditation by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). The commission formally announced its decision on June 25, following a two-year self-study capped by an on-site evaluation team visit earlier this year. Monmouth received an eight-year accreditation term, with no requirements or recommendations, and 12 commendations for excellence in areas such as governance, academic programs, student support, and institutional resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis outcome reflects the strength of our university and the dedication of our faculty and staff to Monmouth\u2019s mission,\u201d said Patrick F. Leahy, president of Monmouth University. \u201cOur students inspire that work every day, and recognition from independent peer educators from other fine institutions throughout the country affirms the quality of the Monmouth experience.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MSCHE first accredited Monmouth in 1952. In its most recent action, the commission reaffirmed the University\u2019s compliance with the 13th edition of its Standards for Accreditation and Requirements of Affiliation. It also affirmed Monmouth University\u2019s eligibility to offer credentials ranging from post-secondary certificates through doctoral professional practice degrees. The next self-study review is scheduled for 2032\u201333.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe reaffirmation of accreditation by Middle States recognizes the strength of our academic programs and the commitment of our faculty and staff to student success,\u201d said Richard Veit, Ph.D., provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at Monmouth University. \u201cThis very positive evaluation reflects the hard work, expertise, and shared commitment of colleagues across the University.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leahy also extended gratitude to the University\u2019s Self\u2011Study Steering Committee co-chairs, Patrick Walden, Ph.D., associate professor and chair of the Department of Speech-Language Pathology, and Bea Rogers, Ed.D., director of supplemental instruction, retention, and general education assessment, along with Accreditation Liaison Officer Christine Benol, for guiding the University\u2019s comprehensive self-study and evaluation process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MSCHE accredits institutions as a whole, not individual programs. Its reaffirmation confirms Monmouth meets federal and state criteria and remains eligible for Title IV federal aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In reaffirming Monmouth\u2019s accreditation, MSCHE recognized the university\u2019s commitment to delivering robust, mission-aligned education across modalities and preserving institutional integrity through peer review.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
