Golam Mathbor, Ph.D., interim dean and professor in the School of Social Work, has been appointed chair of the Council on Social Work Education\u2019s<\/a> (CSWE) Kathrine A. Kendall Institute for International Social Work Education<\/a> Advisory Board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beginning a three-year term in July, Mathbor will collaborate with the advisory board and CSWE to promote standards of excellence for international social work, integrate related concepts into social work curricula, and enrich perspectives, understandings, collaboration, and networking within the social work community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am deeply honored to be appointed chair of the CSWE\u2019s Katherine A. Kendall Institute for International Social Work Education. The institute is dedicated to preparing educators, researchers, students, and practitioners for an increasingly interconnected global community through its programs and initiatives,\u201d Mathbor said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to this appointment, Mathbor served on the advisory board as chair of the Commission on Global Social Work Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Established in 2004, the Kendall Institute honors world-renowned social work educator Katherine A. Kendall, a mentor to Mathbor early in his career. The institute additionally encourages an international agenda and the integration of international content in social work education of CSWE through the the Commission on Global Social Work Education and its two councils, Global Social Issues and Global Learning and Practice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
