Monmouth University\u2019s student-run record label Blue Hawk Records will host the benefit concert Blue Hawk Boardwalk Jam, as part of Light of Day WinterFest 2024<\/a> at The Break in Asbury Park on Jan. 18 at 8 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event will feature Monmouth student-artists, including Amani Lillian, Abby Garcia, Samantha Spano, White Wing, and the Blue Hawk House Band; local Asbury Park band Wavez; and include Joe Rapolla, specialist professor and chair of the Department of Music and Theatre Arts, and Zack Sandler \u201920, associate producer for award-winning photographer Danny Clinch\u2019s Transparent Clinch Gallery, as hosts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m thrilled that the University is again supporting the Light of Day Festival. This is an important cause and another great showcase for our Blue Hawk Records student-artists and alumni, who represent programs across the University,\u201d Rapolla said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Admission to the event is free, courtesy of the Leon Hess Business School and Wayne D. McMurray School of Humanities and Social Sciences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The annual concert series raises money and awareness for the foundation\u2019s cause, Parkinson\u2019s disease, related illnesses, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), and the fight for a cure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Light of Day Foundation<\/a> has raised over $5.75 million since it began the concert series in Asbury Park in 2000. Past performers have included Bruce Springsteen, Michael J. Fox, the Goo Goo Dolls\u2019 John Rzeznik, and other local artists.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
