{"id":40802277646,"date":"2023-10-18T15:06:32","date_gmt":"2023-10-18T19:06:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/news\/?p=40802277646"},"modified":"2023-10-25T15:14:58","modified_gmt":"2023-10-25T19:14:58","slug":"springsteen-archives-announces-new-building-at-monmouth-university","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/news\/springsteen-archives-announces-new-building-at-monmouth-university\/","title":{"rendered":"Springsteen Archives Announces New Building at Monmouth University"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music at Monmouth University has announced a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/springsteenarchives.org\/documents\/new-building.pdf\/\">new 30,000 square foot building<\/a>&nbsp;to house the Archives, the Center for American Music, related exhibition galleries, and a 230-seat, state-of-the-art theater.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Designed by the acclaimed New York-based architectural firm, COOKFOX, the building will be located on the campus of Monmouth University, not far from where Springsteen wrote his landmark song, \u201cBorn to Run,\u201d nearly 50 years ago.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A campaign to raise the $45 million to construct the new building is underway. The anticipated opening date is spring 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMonmouth University is excited to enrich our campus with a new home for one of the country\u2019s premier cultural and educational institutions dedicated to preserving the legacy of Bruce Springsteen and the story of American music,\u201d said Monmouth University President and Chair of the Archives Board&nbsp;Patrick F.
