Kenneth Womack, Ph.D., professor of English and Popular Music, and junior education and English major Carlee Migliorisi, will present a collaborative keynote address at the Pop Culture Association\u2019s (PCA) 2023 National Conference<\/a> in San Antonio, Texas, from April 5-8, 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The presentation, \u201cThe Mal Evans\u2019 Beatles Archive and the Truth About His Untimely Death<\/a>,\u201d focuses on one of the most recognizable members of The Beatles entourage, Mal Evans, who managed the band\u2019s equipment, prepared their meals, acted as their chauffer, and often performed in their songs. The address is described as a world premiere on the PCA conference website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2020, Womack and Migliorisi were granted exclusive access by the Malcom Frederick Evans estate to materials, including manuscripts, personal diaries, photographs, audio, and more. Most of the materials have been concealed for five decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Womack is considered one of the world\u2019s foremost writers and thinkers about the Beatles, with his most recent book, \u201cAll Things Must Pass Away: Harrison, Clapton, and Other Assorted Love Songs,\u201d published last November with co-author Jason Kruppa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Migliorisi works at the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music<\/a> and is a student researcher for various rock \u2018n\u2019 roll related projects, in addition to hosting her radio show \u201cGetting Back to the Beatles\u201d on Monmouth University\u2019s WMCX 88.9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Pop Culture Association is a group of scholars and enthusiasts with the mission to promote the study of pop culture through establishment and promotion of conferences, publications, and discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
