{"id":40802269932,"date":"2022-11-18T16:16:17","date_gmt":"2022-11-18T21:16:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/news\/?p=40802269932"},"modified":"2022-11-30T17:11:42","modified_gmt":"2022-11-30T22:11:42","slug":"monmouth-improves-graduation-success-rate-score","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/news\/monmouth-improves-graduation-success-rate-score\/","title":{"rendered":"Monmouth Athletics Improves Graduation Success Rate Score"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The NCAA released the annual Graduation Success Rate Data Nov. 15, and the Monmouth University Athletics Department&nbsp;achieved a score of 90 or higher for the seventh&nbsp;consecutive year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overall, Monmouth&#8217;s GSR score of 91&nbsp;is based on the four entering classes from 2012-15.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ten of Monmouth&#8217;s programs led or tied for the lead of their respective conferences with perfect scores;&nbsp;men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s basketball, men&#8217;s and women&#8217;s golf, women&#8217;s soccer,&nbsp;women&#8217;s lacrosse, softball, bowling,&nbsp;and&nbsp;men&#8217;s and&nbsp;women&#8217;s tennis.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Division I Board of Directors created the GSR in response to Division I college and university presidents who wanted data that more accurately reflected the mobility of college students than the federal graduation rate. The federal rate counts any student who leaves a school as an academic failure, no matter whether he or she enrolls at another school. Also, the federal rate does not recognize students who enter school as transfer students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The GSR formula removes from the rate student-athletes who leave school while academically eligible and includes student-athletes who transfer to a school after initially enrolling elsewhere.
