Melissa Ziobro, specialist professor of public history, will present \u201cI Looked Up and There was Sky: The 2021 Mullica Hill Tornado\u201d at an event hosted by the Harrison Township Historical Society<\/a> at the Richwood Academy Cultural Center on Sept. 25 at 3 p.m. Free tickets are available to attend in person at the Society\u2019s Facebook page, where the presentation will also be livestreamed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ziobro\u2019s work is the result of an oral history project sponsored by the Harrison Township Historical Society to record the experiences of affected residents, first responders, local officials and volunteers. With support from the Gloucester County Cultural and Heritage Commission at Rowan College of South Jersey in partnership with the New Jersey Historical Commission\/Department of State engaged the services of Melissa Ziobro, specialist professor of public history at Monmouth University, to design and conduct the interviews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Saturday, Oct. 1, 2022, a new companion exhibition, \u201cTornado,\u201d opens at Old Town Hall Museum. The installation features selections from the interviews, as well as photography, video and artifacts to tell the story of the storm and its aftermath and will continue on view Saturdays and Sundays, 1 to 4 p.m. through Dec. 4. Admission is free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
