{"id":40802267041,"date":"2022-08-17T10:38:00","date_gmt":"2022-08-17T14:38:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/news\/?p=40802267041"},"modified":"2022-10-03T15:02:20","modified_gmt":"2022-10-03T19:02:20","slug":"provost-scott-johnson-elected-to-ymca-board-of-directors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/news\/provost-scott-johnson-elected-to-ymca-board-of-directors\/","title":{"rendered":"Provost Scott-Johnson Elected to YMCA Board of Directors"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Pamela Scott-Johnson, Ph.D., provost and senior vice president for Academic Affairs, was recently elected to the <a href=\"https:\/\/ymcanj.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">YMCA of Greater Monmouth County<\/a> board of directors and will serve a three-year term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scott-Johnson was one of seven new members announced to the 45-member board of volunteers that will guide the nonprofit\u2019s strategic direction, set policies, and raise philanthropic support to strengthen the community by connecting all people to their potential, purpose, and each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is an honor to serve on the YMCA of Greater Monmouth County board of directors alongside an experienced and talented group of community leaders with an extremely diverse skill set. I am looking forward to supporting the YMCA\u2019s mission of empowering youth and teens in the surrounding communities and advancing the impact of the organization,\u201d Scott-Johnson said. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scott-Johnson has published widely in professional journals and has been principal investigator for a large number of research and program development grants, totaling more than $5 million. She has also participated in funded research examining factors that contribute to the success of women in STEM fields and the academy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her professional affiliations include serving as a member-at-large, board of directors of the American Psychological Association, and as a member of the Council of College of Arts and Sciences and the American Association of Colleges and Universities. She is an alumna of Higher Education Resource Services (HERS) and the American Psychological Association Leadership Institute for Women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Scott-Johnson is joined by newly appointed members, Annamarie Cutroneo, vice president of operations and support services at Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center; Natasha Davis, lead consultant at Davis Synaptic Solutions, LLC.; Susan Harbison, a retired special education teacher and former member of the Fair Haven and Rumson-Fair Haven boards of education; Molly Kroon, a nonprofit communications and marketing consultant and former news reporter; Loryn Lawson, senior counsel with Byrnes, O\u2019Hern &amp; Huegle, and Jennifer Phillips Smith, an attorney with Gibbons Law.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The YMCA of Greater Monmouth County is a mission driven, value based, nonprofit organization that has served the communities of Monmouth County and parts of Middlesex and Ocean counties for over 145
