\u201cThe Outlook,\u201d Monmouth\u2019s student-run newspaper, recently earned two awards from the American Scholastic Press Association (ASPA) in its annual national competition: first place for Best School Newspaper, and Outstanding Sports Coverage.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

\u201cI am so proud of our editors and writers. These recognitions and awards are a testament to their hard work and their dedication to excellent journalism,\u201d said Marina Vujnovic, Ph.D., professor of Communication and faculty adviser for the newspaper. \u201c\u2018The Outlook\u2019 is a great team of student journalists and for me it\u2019s such an honor to serve as their adviser.\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Vujnovic specifically recognized the accomplishments of Abby Brooks, former editor-in-chief, and Isabella Hanna, incoming editor-in-chief, as well as Erin Mulligan, sports editor, and John Spinelli, staff writer.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The 2022 awards marks “The Outlook\u2019s” seventh national championship in the ASPA contest, and the third consecutive win for the University newspaper.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

“The Outlook” is one of the longest-running student activities at Monmouth and has been published since the school\u2019s inception as Monmouth Junior College in 1933.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
