{"id":40802264762,"date":"2022-05-04T16:43:44","date_gmt":"2022-05-04T20:43:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/news\/?p=40802264762"},"modified":"2022-05-05T09:35:01","modified_gmt":"2022-05-05T13:35:01","slug":"prof-bright-wins-hermes-creative-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/news\/prof-bright-wins-hermes-creative-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Prof. Bright Wins Hermes Creative Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Karen Bright, MFA, professor of Art and Design, recently received a 2022 Hermes Creative Award for the cover design of her husband, Tony Taddei\u2019s collection of linked stories, \u201cThe Sons of the Santorelli,\u201d in the 16<sup>th<\/sup> annual competition.<\/p>\n<p>Bright submitted the artwork under her studio, Studio Bright, and was awarded a gold statuette for best publication cover in the category of Print Media\u2014Design.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am thrilled to have received recognition for \u2018The Sons of the Santorelli\u2019 book cover design. Given that the author, Tony Taddei, is also my husband, it was a labor of love, many years in the making,\u201d Bright said.<\/p>\n<p>The Hermes Creative Awards honors the messengers and creators of the information revolution, including the industry\u2019s best publications, branding collateral, websites, videos, and advertising, marketing, and communication programs, for bringing their ideas to life through traditional and digital platforms.<\/p>\n<p>Submissions are not directly compared to other entries, but are judged based on creativity due to the wide variety of submissions, different styles of art within the same category, and the diversity of artists that range from individuals to Fortune 500 companies.<\/p>\n<p>To ensure fairness and consistency, entries are evaluated over a two-month period by experienced professionals who have had projects similar to the entries submitted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Sons of the Santorelli,\u201d was published on April 12 and follows the journey of the Santorelli sons departing from their conventional immigrant family.
