Zachary Dougherty, a junior majoring in history and political science with a concentration in international relations, was again included in InsiderNJ\u2019s Insider 100: Millennials List. It is Dougherty\u2019s third year being recognized as a leader among \u201ca group that has truly come into its own during the COVID-19 pandemic.\u201d<\/p>\n

In its profile of Dougherty, InsiderNJ noted, \u201cthe Monmouth County native [\u2026] has been a key advocate for gun control legislation and continues to be a voice on issues facing students.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dougherty is leading a statewide effort to establish New Jersey\u2019s first legislative advisory youth council, which would provide a forum for NJ youth to participate in the democratic process. He is also collaborating with Ocean County\u2019s law enforcement, student governments, and interfaith community leaders to implement new programs that combat the rise in youth bias hate crimes across New Jersey communities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMonmouth empowers its students to become active citizens in their community, nation, and world,\u201d said Dougherty, who is involved on campus in the Political Science Club and Model United Nations. \u201cThe personal growth and proficiency I\u2019ve gained at Monmouth has already begun to open exciting doors, and I\u2019m excited to see what will follow.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Also representing Monmouth on the Insider 100: Millennials List for a third year is Samantha DeAlmeida ’12 ’14M ’18M.<\/p>\n
