After the war, they fought for veteran status and have recently been nominated for a Congressional Gold Medal.<\/p>\n<p>Ziobro worked as a command historian at the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command, Fort Monmouth, N.J. from 2004-2011. She currently serves as the president of <a href=\"https:\/\/ohmar.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Oral History in the Mid-Atlantic Region<\/a> and as the editor for &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/njs.libraries.rutgers.edu\/index.php\/njs\/index\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">New Jersey Studies: An Interdisciplinary Journal<\/a>,&#8221; a joint venture of the New Jersey Historical Commission, Rutgers University Libraries, and Monmouth University.
