Monmouth University was named to the inaugural \u201cEducation A-List\u201d released by \u201cPR News\u201d on Feb. 8. The list showcases the top 35 educational institutions that are advancing the careers of public relations and communication professionals in the U.S., and includes Columbia University, Harvard University, Georgetown University, among other familiar national institutions.<\/p>\n

Marina Vujnovic, Ph.D., associate professor of journalism, said the faculty within the department of Communication, particularly within the journalism and public relation cluster, are very excited about the recognition.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast semester Professor Nulle and I decided to submit our Public Relations Student Society of America\u00a0(PRSSA) accredited\u00a0program for consideration, especially because of the strength of the hands-on experiences we provide to our students through work with real clients,\u201d Vujnovic said.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo be selected to be among 35 highly competitive programs in the country is a true recognition of our hard work, especially in the past few years,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Colleges and universities on the list include public and private schools delivering a variety of learning options for students\u2014from part-time and full-time to online and hybrid opportunities\u2014to best meet the needs of working professionals as well as full time students.<\/p>\n

Vujnovic also cited an increase in options for hybrid course delivery at Monmouth as a factor in recognition on the 2021 list.<\/p>\n

To compile the list, \u201cPR News\u201d looked at how the programs prepare students for continued success in their existing jobs and in future career paths. In their announcement, \u201cPR News\u201d noted, \u201cthe schools selected continue to evolve their program offerings to reflect the changing nature of the field of communication and ensure students learn about emerging trends.\u201d<\/p>\n
