Nixon, the powers of the Presidency have been the subject of much discussion. As a result, both Congress and the Supreme Court have attempted to place limits on the influence of the White House. Over 40 years later, President Donald Trump is testing the limits of presidential power more than any president since Nixon.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Oct. 29 at 5:30 p.m. in Wilson Auditorium, Monmouth University will host Watergate lawyer John Dean and presidential historian and author James Robenalt for a conversation on presidential powers, discussing and comparing Presidents Nixon and Trump.<\/p>\n<p><strong>John Dean<\/strong> is well known for his historic role as the White House counsel to President Richard Nixon and for his role in the impeachment and resignation of the disgraced former President. Dean has continued his career as an author, speaker and commentator on public issues and is a frequent commentator on CNN. His books include \u201cBlind Ambition,\u201d \u201cConservatives without Conscience,\u201d and \u201cThe Nixon Defense: What He Knew and When He Knew It.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>James Robenalt, Esq.<\/strong> is an accomplished author, historian, and attorney. His books include \u201cJanuary 1973: Watergate, Roe V. Wade,\u201d \u201cVietnam,\u201d \u201cThe Month That Changed America Forever,\u201d \u201cThe Harding Affair: Love and Espionage During the Great War,\u201d and his most recent book, \u201cBallots or Bullets: Black Power Politics and Urban Guerrilla Warfare in 1968 Cleveland.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This free event is a part of the H.R.
