Physician Assistant Week takes place every year in October, and will go from Oct. 6 to Oct. 12 this year. It is an opportunity to recognize the profession and its contributions to the nation’s health.<\/p>\n

Want to learn more? Join Monmouth University’s physician assistant students and alumni on Wednesday, Oct. 10 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Anacon Hall, section A (second floor of the Rebecca Stafford Student Center) at Monmouth University. \u00a0Recent graduates will share their experiences as physician assistants, describe their roles in the specific field in which they work, as well as answer any questions that students may have.<\/p>\n

Physician assistants are medical professionals who diagnose illness, develop and manage treatment plans, prescribe medications, and can serve as primary healthcare providers. \u00a0There are more than 123,000 physician assistants working across the country\u2014and according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the profession is expected to grow by 37 percent between 2016 and 2036.<\/p>\n
