WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. \u2014 The Leon Hess Business School at Monmouth University welcomed a new chair and vice chair to its Business Council. William MacDonald \u201981 was named chair and John Macrae was named vice chair at the council\u2019s meeting on September 29. The Council has also appointed Thomas Cardinale as treasurer.<\/p>\n

MacDonald succeeds Deb Mannix \u201983 as chair, after serving with her as vice chair for the past two years. He is Senior Vice President at PNC Bank, overseeing the bank\u2019s Central New Jersey Commercial Banking team. He also chairs one of PNC\u2019s internal business groups, the Jersey Shore Coalition, aimed at improving the bank\u2019s brand and its involvement in the communities in the Shore area and is active in community and volunteer-based activities in the marketplace. MacDonald received a bachelor\u2019s degree in business finance from Monmouth in 1981.<\/p>\n

\u201cI look forward to continuing the great work that Deb and the previous Business Council leaders have done, and am looking forward to working with more closely with Dean Moliver,\u201d said MacDonald who has worked in the banking industry for more than 35 years. \u201cWe have a wealth of knowledge and resources on this Business Council and you couldn\u2019t ask for a better representation from the business community to help our students prepare for the next phase of their lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

In accepting his appointment as vice chair, John Macrae \u201988,\u201994M, chief financial officer for Shore Point Distributing Company, Inc., said, \u201cI would like to congratulate Deb on her successful tenure as our past Chair and thank Bill and the steering committee for asking me to be his vice chair.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that his \u201cinvolvement with the Business Council has been an extremely rewarding experience. I look forward to working with Bill and the rest of the Business Council, Dean Moliver and the faculty to continue their great work in support of the business school and its students.\u201d<\/p>\n

Serving as the new treasurer of the council, Thomas Cardinale, who is a Tax Partner for Eisner Amper, said, \u201cI am privileged to accept this position and committed to being an efficient steward of the Council\u2019s finances, in addition to staying actively involved in various MU events and initiatives.\u201d<\/p>\n

The meeting was also attended by university president Grey Dimenna.<\/p>\n

The Business Council, formed in 1984, is charged to advise the business school and to help develop mutually supportive relationships between the school and the business community.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
