{"id":40802198098,"date":"2014-09-24T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-09-24T04:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/news\/free-investment-seminar-at-monmouth-university\/"},"modified":"2018-02-05T16:49:30","modified_gmt":"2018-02-05T21:49:30","slug":"free-investment-seminar-at-monmouth-university","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.monmouth.edu\/news\/free-investment-seminar-at-monmouth-university\/","title":{"rendered":"Free Investment Seminar at Monmouth University"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Best-selling author Jeremy Rifkin will lead the Monmouth University Leon Hess Business School&#8217;s 20  <sup>th<\/sup>  \u00a0Annual Fall Investment Seminar on Thursday, October 9 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in Wilson Auditorium in historic Woodrow Wilson Hall.\u00a0This event is free and open to the public. \u00a0Seating is limited, and registration is required by October 3.\u00a0 Rifkin is author of 20 books on the impact of scientific and technological changes on the economy, the workforce, society and the environment.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Rifkin recently published his 20th book, &#8220;The Zero Marginal Cost Society: The Internet of Things, the Collaborative Commons, and the Eclipse of Capitalism.&#8221;\u00a0 In 2011, Rifkin published the New York Times bestseller &#8220;The Third Industrial Revolution,&#8221; which captured the attention of the world. \u00a0Rifkin&#8217;s vision of a sustainable, post carbon economic era has been endorsed by the European Union and the United Nations and embraced by world leaders including Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany, President Fran\u00e7ois Hollande of France, and Premier Li Keqiang of China.<\/p>\n<p>Dean of the Leon Hess Business School Donald Moliver said, &#8220;Mr. Rifkin&#8217;s expertise in the field of economics with an emphasis on global issues has made him a world-wide figure of knowledge, and we are very happy to have him speak at out 20th annual fall investment seminar.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Rifkin is the founder and president of The Foundation on Economic Trends (  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foet.org\">www.foet.org<\/a>  ) in Bethesda, MD.
